Overlook Park is a popular spot for portraits, and there are plenty of reasons why! This Lancaster County park offers a variety of landscapes for photos in every season, but its woods are the perfect spot for a winter session.
Prior to this session, I had only photographed one family session with older children and a handful of family photos for a local church’s Christmas photo event. Needless to say, this family of eleven, including four kids, was going to be a new experience for me.
And what fun it was! Large family sessions may be my new favorite thing. It is so much fun to be surrounded by generations of one family and see everyone interact with genuine smiles and laughter.
I was so excited when the grandmother said she brought along a blanket for photos of her and her grandkids! This was the perfect opportunity for some close-ups of these adorable kids.
A sibling moment:
Look at her precious smile!
Next, it was time for family photos.
This boy found the hole in his mom's jeans fascinating, and not long after, his sister joined in on the fun! I love it when I get to capture natural reactions to kids being kids. Sometimes the best photos are the unposed ones.
A moment for the adults:
Since the grandparents were here for this session, I got to try this special pose.
Central Pennsylvania Family Photographer
This was my first regular-length session with little kids, and wow, I enjoyed it. There was a huge smile on my face the entire time I was taking photos and editing them. I am so happy I got to capture these memories for the Smith Family. If you would like me to capture your family photos, contact me through my booking form. I can't wait to hear from you!
