About Me

I first discovered my love for photography in early 2015 at the age of 14. I joined my dad on a trip to a camera store in Charlotte, NC, where I grew up. Little did I know that this trip would be a turning point in my life. I left the store that day with a camera — a purchase that would shape my future. Without wasting any time, I dove into the world of photography. My dad became my mentor, teaching me all the tips and tricks. For the next few years, my camera became an extension of myself, always by my side.

During a camping trip in July 2015, I had a moment of realization that I loved capturing portraits. I got to experiment with my dad's camera and tried macro photography and, of course, portrait photography. My sister graciously agreed to be my model and has played a significant role in my photography journey ever since. In fact, a photograph from our first official portrait session together even won first place at the Lebanon Area Fair! I have taken portraits of her around the country because I always carry my camera when my family travels.

Throughout the years, I have had opportunities to take pictures with my friends, and I have learned so much and enjoyed every second of this adventure. As I have carried this passion into this business, I have been able to meet new people, hear their stories, and capture beautiful moments.

I love:

Jesus! My faith is such an important part of who I am. I love getting to use my gifts and serve Him in all I do—photography being one.

Reading. I grew up with a librarian for a mom, which meant lots of reading. I rediscovered this love in 2022 and love to talk books.

Being outdoors (especially in the mountains!). Camping, hiking, backpacking, whitewater rafting, hammocking—I love it all.

Dogs. My family has a boy and a girl dog, Toby and Diogee.  I cannot wait to get my own. I love getting to hear about your dogs!

More About Me

I was made to be a photographer

Me, circa 2005

I've been drawn to capturing moments through photography for as long as I can remember. Whether it was borrowing my dad's camera when I was a little girl, taking pictures on my 6th-grade 'dumb phone' of my sister in the snow, or learning how to use my first camera as a teenager, I had a desire to document.

Recently, I was curious to learn what personality characteristics are common among photographers. There's a stereotype that photographers are introverts and don't like talking to people more than they have to, and there's some truth to that. According to this study, the most common personality type among photographers surveyed was INFJ, which also happens to be the rarest personality type in the world, with less than 2% of people being INFJs. Guess who happens to have an INFJ personality type? Me! When I discovered this connection, it all made sense. I've always been more of an observer than the center of attention. Through photography, I can step back from the action and artistically capture what I see.

I am an introvert through and through. I cherish my alone time and tend to be quiet until I feel comfortable around people. Photography provides me with the perfect balance. I can socialize with new people and then retreat to my editing cave for hours while enjoying my favorite show. Don't get me wrong, I love documenting big wedding celebrations and meeting new people, but I definitely need some alone time afterward to recharge my energy.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10

God gives us unique gifts and talents, and He's blessed me with the gift of creativity. Over the past several years, I have invested in developing my skills and learning how to glorify God through my work. Whether I am taking photos, designing websites and logos, writing blog posts, or creating social media posts, I put my all into what I create.

While pursuing an associate's degree at HACC, I discovered the ideal program for transferring to Liberty University. In August 2023, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication with a focus on Social Media Management. I loved studying social media management and all things digital marketing because so much of it involves creativity. I've worked as the Marketing Coordinator for the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg since January 2024, and I absolutely love what I get to do!

I love to tell love stories,

and I love to read them too

I love love. The kind of love you read about in books. But what truly matters to me is capturing your connection and your story, because it's one of a kind. I want you to experience more than just aesthetically pleasing photographs; I want you to truly feel that connection. When you look at your pictures, I want you to perceive the authenticity, the flaws, the closeness, the safety, and the incredible gift of loving and being loved by others.

Speaking of love, I got married on September 20, 2025, to my husband Jon! After getting married, I changed my name to Kylie Hunt, but I love getting to hold on to 'Stewart' through my business!

We first "met" in February of 2020 at the Hershey Starbucks when I passed him a note (it's a fun story!). Later that week, we went on our first date, and the rest is history!

It was so much fun to experience getting married after photographing so many weddings. Now I relate to my clients on a deeper level, which has been truly special to me.

My Photo Firsts

My First Photo

October 2010

My sister and I were messing around in our neighborhood park with her kindergarten class bear. Each student got to take the bear home for a week and document his adventures. My dad let me borrow his camera, and I got this shot. I love its special meaning as my first photo taken on a DSLR camera.

My First Portrait Shoot

March 2017

After buying my first camera in 2015, I became interested in portraits and was constantly asking my sister, Sarah, for some quick shots. In 2017, Sarah agreed to model for me on a shoot. I did her makeup and hair, let her borrow my clothes, and grabbed the flowers from our dining room table. I came into the shoot knowing absolutely nothing about taking portraits - just learning as I went. On this day, I realized how much I loved taking portraits.

My First Paid Shoot

August 2019

My friend Sara mentioned at youth group in 2019 that she needed to take senior pictures. I mentioned that I take photos, and we set up a shoot. I did tons of preparation for this shoot - from learning poses, scouting locations, and establishing an editing style. I am so thankful for the clients who trusted and supported me from the very beginning.

My First Wedding

October 2021

Shooting a wedding was not something I expected to do in 2021. However, a photographer asked if I could second shoot a wedding at a state park in Maryland. It was a great experience, even if we had to work around rain. This day got me so excited about where my photography will take me!

My First Photography Job

Summer 2022

After class one day in January 2022, I decided to look up Christian summer camp photographer jobs. One thing led to another, and I ended up in Kansas City, MO, for the summer, working with kids for the first time, creating marketing content, and taking and editing hundreds of photos a day. It was hard work but SO much fun. Click to see more photos because it is impossible for me to pick ten favorites!
